ON NOMENCLATURE
Time is 2013-05-28: 02:05:xx, starving to heaven, veins pumped full of caffeine listening to Disturbed on deezer.com, classical recipe for madness. Got started checking out stuff on internet, and got distracted trying to build my online personality (persona, whatever!).
First thing is checked google to see. Almost all my social network presence in the search results. Facebook, twitter, linked in, and a new one I never knew about, my influence/influencers on klout.com. Cool site, just annoying I have to register/sign-in as usual.
Coming up with some really cool ideas, and all.

BUT I DIGRESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was thinking about my name, Davis Abubakr-Sadik Nii Nai. It kind of like is a source of cool -yeah, you heard me, and frustration. In bullet points:
- No one can seem to spell it right. From parents to employers to self. I have changed the spelling of my name so many times it must be illegal.
- It's freaking long.
- It is a representation of the Ghanaian religious culture - I tell myself and anyone who'll listen that. Davis a christian name, Abubakr-Sadik a muslim name, and Nii Nai a traditional name.
Abubakr-Sadik. God! I mean, Allah! That is not even a name. Not only did I get a lot of terrorist-looking and violent pictures in the image search - how i'm ever not on the US NSA watch list, the guy who was called by the afore-mentioned name's real name was Abd Allah ibn 'Uthman ibn Aamir ibn Amr ibn Ka'ab ibn Sa'ad ibn Taym ibn Murrah ibn Ka'ab ibn Lu'ai ibn Ghalib ibn Fihr al-Quraishi, go figure!!! Now hear me complain about my long name. Somehow he got nicked named 'Father of the virgin'. And in case you haven't managed to piece all the above facts together, the nick name is 'Abu Bakr' in Arabic. Although my sexual escapades can be counted on one hand (specifically one finger) I doubt I am, or want to be a good candidate for such a high and exalted title as one involving virgin, SMH! Wait on second thoughts, I think the nick will be alright if it refers to the daughter/son virgin, not the father as a virgin, that will be real bad form IMHO!
So not only do my parents, acquaintances, the government, employers and self not spell my Abu Bakr properly, the Sadik is spelt wrong. The original is spelt Siddiq, and it's not even a name. A 100 bucks for anyone can guess what it is. Correct for 3 points - forget the 100 bucks, its also a title/nick name that means 'Truthful one', a skill set I'll be untruthful if I said I had - hmmm I'm probably being truthful saying I'm not truthful, you see what I'm talking about, this is not even a half of the contradictions, monologues, soliloquy I have in my everyday life.
Even so, most people do not spell the corruption of Siddiq which is my name Sadik correctly. I've seen really weird spellings like Sidiq, Siddiqque, Sadiq, Sedik, and now that I think of it I realize there is a pattern in the name spellings. It seems everyone's basic aim is to get as many or little 'S', 'D', and 'K' sounding letters, phonims <- dont look for that one up in a dictionary, in there and that will make the spelling correct - sigh.
So in conclusion. My entire first name is not a name, but a nick name. What's not to rant about that. I wont even talk about Davis or Nii Nai.
